MITSUBISHI EVO X FQ400

For those of you that thought the new Evo X FQ360 wasn't fast enough or hardcore enough you will be delighted to hear that the FQ400 has gone into production. As the name suggests it will produce a whopping 400bhp with a new turbo so big that it may well engulf a small animal. Expect 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds (quicker than 911 turbo) and 170mph , this will definately be stiff competition for the new Nissan Skyline GTR for the crown of the ultimate rice rocket.

New Mclaren Supercar

MCLAREN P11

 

This is Mclarens new supercar to follow up their collaboration with Mercedes the SLR, which was a dissapointment ... £300,000 for an upmarket SL ...LUDACRIS.     Anyway this new model codenamed the P11 is set to be something slightly more unique dropping the mercedes badge and costing between £150,000 - £200,000 and hitting over 200mph with a 0-60mph sprint of under 4 seconds. It has recently been found out that Mclaren have taken at least a dozen orders for this car and intend to build about 5000 yearly from the UK based HQ. As Mclaren is part owned by Mercedes the engine looks like it might be sourced from the 6.3 amg models giving an estimated 500bhp. Will keep you posed with more updates

RUF ELECTRIC PORSCHE

RUF. This name is usually synonymous with extreme 911's with sub 4 second 0-60 mph times. However this is no ordinary RUF. This is believe it or not ELECTRIC.  It is powered by a lithium ion battery. and will hit 60mph in under 7 seconds and eventually get to 160mph. It is currently a concept however do expect porsche coming out with an electric production car in  the near future.

1 of the feature cars at the Paris motor show was this 4 door saloon from Lamborgini, with radical styling similar to that of the Reventon it most certainly is an eye catcher. The Estoque shares the 5.0 litre V10 with the gallardo , except the Estoques is detuned to 500bhp , there are also plans to release it with V8 and TDI models. If this model is built it will go up against the up and coming Aston Martin Rapide.

Extremely SMART ... or perhaps a little too clever? ... you decide

This crazy smart reincarnation is based on the smart Fortwo and has two 1 litre smart engines with a custom 5 speed automatic gear box. 1 engine drives the front wheels and 1 engine drives the back wheels. It was dreamt up by the president of RENNtech Hartmut Feyhl the former head of AMG. 

This unique set up gives the smart 182hp AWD , it will hit 62mph in a terrifying 5.1 seconds and keep on going all the way to 138 mph. The question i'm sure you are all dying to ask is how is all that power going to be glued to the tarmac.... Well RENNtech have custom built 17 inch alloys wih michelin pilot sports tyres.

With a combination of an international financial crisis and increased concerns of global warning many car companies are going green. 1 company you wouldn't expect to be going green is ferrari. The Italian supercar giant aims to reduce its carbon emissions by 40% by 2012. At the Detroit motor show Ferrari showcased its F430 spider running on E85 fuel, which is comprised of 85% ethanol derived from plants. Not only is there a significant decrease in emissions but also amazingly a 10% increase in horse power.

AUDI R8 V12 TDI

Diesel is not just for old bangers any more. With the recent rise of cleaner more efficient diesels we are seing them being put into more and more high performance cars. This audi R8 is a prime example of utilising the emense torque that can be created from a diesel engine.

It has a 6.0-litre V12 TDI engine develops nearly 500bhp. Whats even more astonishing is this R8 engine develops 737lb.ft of torque !!. This TDI can get to 62mph in 4.2 seconds and exceed 186mph. I can't exactly say this car is environmentally friendly however is much more economically than your average super car
